Visit this exciting North County children’s museum and experience a world of wonders with hands-on activities for kids up to age 10. Interactive exhibits focus on science, art, and world cultures and are separated into four distinct areas: Explore, Imagine, Experiment, and Discover. Children can set sail on the Discovery Sailboat, travel to the Kids Global Village, feed chickens in the Children’s Discovery Garden, and uncover a whole dinosaur fossil in the Base Camp dig site year round. SPACE: Our Greatest Adventure, an educational, interactive, one-of-a-kind – and most important of all FUN! — special exhibition exploring mankind’s quest for the stars and how space exploration impacts our daily lives.

SPACE: Our Greatest Adventure is separated into four distinct zones – Welcome to the Space Age, The Race to the Moon, Life in Space Today and Our Future in Space. With hand’s-on learning experiences, selfie stations on the Moon, Mars and the International Space Station, and informative videos and smart touch screens – SPACE: Our Greatest Adventure is an immersive experience for explorers of all ages.

See the actual Apollo 9 Command Module “Gumdrop,” as well as examples of Mercury and Gemini space capsules and a complete Apollo Command Service Module. Want to land the Space Shuttle or dock it with the International Space Station? Sit in a Mercury capsule? Take a selfie in a Mars space suit or see a life-size Mars rover? Take your photo on the Moon next to an Apollo astronaut? Then SPACE: Our Greatest Adventure is for you.

SPACE: Our Greatest Adventure is free and open to the public with paid general admission to the San Diego Air & Space Museum, seven days a week, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and Residents Free Tuesdays.

Experiment with 100+ interactive, “do-touch” exhibits and check out fun traveling exhibitions in this inspiring science museum and planetarium in Balboa Park. Inside the Fleet Science Center you can construct marble roller coasters in the Tinkering Studio, interact with a swirling tornado, learn how to generate electricity and explore other fun science concepts!

The Fleet is also home to the world’s first IMAX® Dome Theater, showing stunning nature and science films in an immersive, wrap-around screen experience.

Without leaving your seat, you’ll feel as if you’re exploring a national park, soaring high above beautiful ancient landscapes or swimming with colorful and amazing sea creatures. The Fleet Science Center also offers spring, summer and winter camps for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade, engaging live science talks, unique school learning programs and after-hours events for the 21+ crowd.

The Fleet is open 365 days a year, including holidays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Hours and current exhibitions are subject to change so please check fleetscience.org for the latest information,
