Leonardo da Vinci remains one of the most fascinating people history has ever known, and the San Diego Air & Space Museum vividly brings to life his inventions, artworks, machines and robotics with the amazing “Da Vinci: The Ultimate Innovator” special exhibition, opening Oct. 1, 2015. Bring the family to Ice Town in Carlsbad. There’s fun for everyone! Public skating runs daily, with night sessions offered on Fridays and Saturdays. Free introductory figure-skating and hockey lessons open to skaters ages 3-12 are held Friday afternoons. After the lesson, join Ice Town’s Skating Academy or Hockey Academy and continue with group lessons. The facility also hosts children’s birthdays, with full-service, private, and semi-private parties to fit all budgets. Other fun activities include adult hockey, corporate parties, summer camps, broomball (great for team-building) and even curling! See you on the ice!

Summer’s almost here but from the looks of things, kids at PlayWerx have gotten a head start. Toddlers and older boys and girls love swinging, sliding and jumping around inside this exciting Carlsbad facility year-round.
The mega-sized, multi-story play structure is the main attraction, letting kids climb onto different levels, wiggle through mazes and bounce around in the mini-ball pits, all to their heart’s content. Little ones 24 months and younger can also spend time in the facility’s toys and books room.

At PlayWerx, parents get front-row seating to the play structure, allowing them to check out the action up close! They can either participate with the kids or lounge in comfy chairs and sofas and get work done online thanks to the venue’s free Wi-Fi network. The well-stocked cafe carries everything from sandwiches to Popsicles and fruit bars, along with a full gourmet coffee bar that features lattes, espresso, cappuccino, iced teas and blended drinks.

Summer Drop-Off Program
Great for drop-off play, rainy days and holidays, PlayWerx is also the place for kids this summer! PlayWerx has a drop-off program that can provide parents the hours they need to complete errands or take personal time. Just call 24 hours in advance to reserve a spot anytime Tuesdays through Sundays. The rate is $12 per hour for a minimum of three hours and $9 for a second child (friend or sibling). PlayWerx simply requests that your child be bathroom independent!
