The shop is also noted for its outside nursery stocked with colorful succulents, fruit trees and pottery. Patrons love exploring rows of drought-tolerant plants perfect for outdoor gardens, patio tables, window sills, desks or wherever they are showcased. All can be paired with various-sized, bright and stylish pots and planters.

Formerly the San Diego Bay Flower Company, Freed added the garden center and a new name THISTLE in 2015. And like the hardy wildflower, the Ocean Beach mainstay has continued to grow and grow attracting everyone from locals to out-of-towners.
