Frida’s Taqueria has opened its third restaurant location in North County. The business has taken over restaurant spaces at South Santa Fe Mercado strip mall, 1250 S. Santa Fe Ave Suite O, in Vista. The original location is in Escondido at the corner of East Valley Parkway and Fig Street. Another location opened on Mission Avenue inn Oceanside in 2023. Frida’s serves up Tijuana-style tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tortas, quesa tacos, mulitas, fries, and papas rellenas (savory stuffed potatoes). Street taco classics include carne asada, adobada, pollo, carnitas, papa con chorizo, birria, chicharrón, and cabeza — all topped with a choice of onions, cilantro, salsas, and/or creamy guacamole. Guests simply order at the register, and watch master grillers fire it all up. Refreshing aguas frescas such as watermelon, cucumber melon and pineapple plus various sodas round out the delicious menu. For late-night taco lovers, these culinary sensations are open from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Tues.-Thurs., 10 a.m.-12 a.m. Fri.-Sat. and 10 am.-11 p.m. Sunday. Closed Mondays.
