Kids in Grades 1-8 are invited to Summer Camp at the Japanese Friendship Garden an Museum in Balboa Park! Grades 1 & 2 are set for June 24-28; Grades 3-5 run June 24-28 and Grades 6-8 will have camp July 8-12. Sessions are half-days and topics include Calligraphy, Taiko (art of Japanese drumming), Koto (Japanese harp), Ikebana (create a work of art using flowers, leaves and branches), Yukata Dressing (sometimes described as yukata kimono, a type of summer kimono) and more. Summer will be here before you know it, and Birch Aquarium is ready with ocean-inspired camps for kids! Starting June 17, the Aquarium will offer weekly in-person sessions for kids ages 4-13. Explore underwater worlds and meet ocean creatures in fun and safe week-long camps, with full-day options available! Campers will play games, create fun crafts, engage in science activities, surf, snorkel, and of course, get up close with aquarium animals. Registration is now open for the general public.
