Welcome to SAPLinGS! (Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday)
Children are invited to join San Diego Botanic Garden for Science, Art and PLay in Garden Spaces (SAPLinGS) activities.
Each month they focus on a different plant or nature-based theme. Science activities engage kids with cool science and hands-on learning that stimulates curiosity. Art activities focus on the process with open ended projects that spark the imagination. They always have your favorites, too, including the Seeds of Wonder Garden’s model trains, and Hamilton Children’s Garden’s famous Toni’s Treehouse, music making section, and mountain stream for splashing!
Garden Time in the Incredible Edibles Garden
Please join them in the Incredible Edibles Garden to plant, water, weed, and all the other activities that keep a garden, well, incredible! Plus they explore seasonal happenings in the garden from seed to fruit, insects, decomposers, and more.
The Spring Garden Festival is a great family-friendly, free annual event at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon.
Celebrating Community Farms and Gardens is the theme of this year’s festival, which marks the event’s 21st anniversary! Demonstrations on community farming topics, the Cuyamaca College nursery’s biggest plant sale of the year, the Rancho San Diego Farmer’s Market, and a fashion show make this an event for the whole family! Be sure to stop by the Heritage of the Americas Museum next door for an extra treat!
The Spring Festival is produced by Cuyamaca College’s Ornamental Horticulture Department and The Water Conservation Garden.
