In society, poets and songwriters play the essential role of dreamers, opening up avenues of hope for others. Despite the oppressive regimes which prevailed throughout much of Latin America and Spain in the 20th century, what persevered from the dreamers was an unending love for beauty and humanity. La Jolla Music Society Presents ‘Pianimal,’ A Classical Music Experience For Kids!
Spring into La Jolla Music Society's dynamic May lineup, including “Pianimal," a classical music experience for children. Founded in 2011 by director Elizabeth Schumann and her sister, Sonya Schumann, Piano Theatre began as a collaboration to create a concert tour integrating literature, art, music, and multimedia for children. This project,“Pianimal," presents piano pieces, theatre, and artwork inspired by animals, with integrated live video projections and artwork to promote arts education. Pianimal includes the music of Dvořák, Grieg, Rimsky-Korsakov, Debussy, Scriabin, Dutilleux, Mussorgsky, and Saint-Saëns. Recommended for ages 5 to 10, this fun event takes place Saturday, May 6 with two shows at 10 a.m....
