The Fiesta de Reyes stage provides free live musical entertainment. Every weekend Old Town’s favorite mariachi band and beautiful folklorico dancers make for an unforgettable experience. We find that many folks come just for our entertainment. Of course, we hope they’ll buy a margarita and a taco while they’re here, but it’s not necessary. Check out the "Esco Alley Art" mural project, with 17 new murals in the alley south of Grand between Broadway and Kalmia. This is the fourth phase of the project, which launched in 2021 with 33 murals decorating the alley. The paintings are just one of the many things to see in downtown Escondido! Circle back to the past and ride the historic Balboa Park Carousel! Almost all of the animal figures are original from 1910, as are the hand-painted murals on the center panels, the outer rounding boards, the military band organ, the motor, and the famous brass ring game.
