The Corpse Flower in Bloom at the San Diego Botanic Garden!
July 3, 2023 - July 4, 2023
The Corpse Plant is officially in bloom at the Garden, opening up on July 2. We are now on day two of the bloom, with plenty of stink still left for all to smell!
The Garden will be open until 11pm tonight, July 3 and will be opening Tuesday, July 4 from 9am – 4pm for guests to visit. Select our Extended Hours option to reserve any after hours or Tuesday hours to visit the Garden, and be sure to select the date and time you want to visit.
This is an endangered species, native to Indonesia’s island of Sumatra with fewer than 1,000 plants remaining in the wild. This will be the first Amorphophallus titanium to flower at SDBG since November 2021.
*This event is expected to be highly visited and coincides with our opening weekend for Savage Gardens. We highly recommend online reservations as we cannot ensure walk-in admissions. Please note only access to the Conservatory will be available during special extended hours from 5 pm to 11 pm.
Live Stream Bloom Watch from home on our live stream as this giant plant begins to open, watch as the Corpse Flower continues to bloom! Be one of the first to see it bloom and reserve your tickets to see it in person.
