14th Annual Farm to Bay Fundraiser presented by Living Coast Discovery Center
August 12, 2023
The Living Coast Discovery Center will host its 14th annual Farm to Bay event on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The unique tasting event, set inside the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge in Chula Vista, brings together some of San Diego’s favorite local food and beverage purveyors to support coastal wildlife, education and sustainability programs at the nonprofit zoo/aquarium.
The event will feature live entertainment, auctions and up-close encounters with the Living Coast Discovery Center’s beloved animal ambassadors, including endangered sea turtles, sharks, hawks, eagles, owls and more. Farm to Bay is the Living Coast’s biggest fundraiser of the year. More than $137,000 was raised in 2022, the event’s highest net proceeds ever.
Farm to Bay is for guests 21+ only. A list of participating food and beverage partners can be found at www.thelivingcoast.org/farmtobay. (Additional partners are still being finalized.) Tickets go on sale on June 29.
In keeping with its commitment to environmental sustainability, The Living Coast has taken the necessary steps toward producing a Zero-Waste event by working closely with its partners to reduce overall waste and offer reusable and earth-friendly materials. Event waste is hand-sorted and composted on-site by a team of staff and volunteers. In past years, over 90 percent of event waste was recycled or composted and diverted from landfills.
Farm to Bay 2023 is made possible by Presenting Sponsors Collins Aerospace, Seven Mile Casino and Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay. Additional sponsors include City of Chula Vista Office of Sustainability, SDG&E, Cox, Marine Group Boat Works, Port of San Diego, Republic Services, Baldwin & Sons, Hoffman Hanono Insurance Services, Jim Biddle, Miller Hull, North Island Credit Union, San Diego Foundation, Southwestern College, Verizon and Wheelhouse Credit Union.
