Wiens Cellars

Have a barrel of fun at Wiens Cellars, the family-run estate winery producing palate-pleasing varietals in Temecula. Wiens is known for its high-quality big beds, wow-worthy whites, refreshing rosés, and another showstopper — Amour De L’Orange, a savory sparkler with a citrus twist.

The winery also offers an array of favorites from Zinfandel to Cab to Syrah, plus plenty of delicious blends with memorable names like Crowded, Bare Knuckle and Obscura. Other handcrafted selections include their spicy Ruby Port, light and crisp Chardonnay and smooth Sangiovese. Wiens is also one of the few wineries in the Temecula Valley to offer a Pinot Noir.

The Main Tasting Room features a rustic design, with wood beams, mahogany bars and granite tops, polished concrete floors, and a marble fireplace, inviting guests to sip and savor Wiens’ premium offerings. Knowledgeable servers enjoy answering questions about the wines themselves, the winemaking process from harvest to the bottled product, and of course, sharing the Wiens’ family path to winery fame. Tastings are offered daily for $20, which includes six samples plus an elegant souvenir glass.

For guests who would prefer to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a bottle of wine outside, the winery also boasts a beautiful patio overlooking the lush green lawn. Other tasting areas include the gorgeous French and American oak-barrel-lined Barrel Room that hosts Wine Club Members on weekends; and the Cellar Room, used exclusively for seated tastings, by appointment. Tastings in this room include a flight of Bordeaux style, reserve, and limited production red wines for guests 21+ and parties of eight or fewer.

Becoming a wine club member is a perfect way to enjoy all the winery has to offer. Prospective members may choose from three options. All offer handcrafted wines straight from Wiens’ vast vineyards, plus regular discounts, complimentary wine-tasting in the Main Tasting Room or Barrel Room for the member and a guest for the lifetime of the membership, and invitations to club events.
• Big Reds – Get two bottles of previously unreleased red wine, selected by the winemaker, every other month.
• Mixed Club – Enjoy one bottle of previously unreleased red wine and one bottle of white wine each selected by the winemaker, plus one bottle of Amour de L’Orange sparkling wine, every other month.
• Winemaker’s Select Club – Sip and savor premium and limited production wines, enjoy free seated wine-tasting in Wiens’ Cellar Room six times per year, and receive two bottles of premium Bordeaux style wine every other month.

For its lovely grounds and vineyards, signature Big Reds and friendly atmosphere, a visit to Wiens Cellars is a must.
