Join the “famiglia” for an authentic Italian wine tasting experience on the De Portola Wine Trail in Temecula Valley.  A family tradition since 1886, winemaking has been carried on now for four generations of Renzonis. Located in the breathtaking “Valle de los Caballos”, where gentle breezes and stunning views combine with a wine tasting experience like no other, Robert Renzoni Vineyards continues the tradition that began over 100 years ago along Italy’s northern coast. Creating the finest wines for your enjoyment and with the belief that friends and family deserve nothing but the best, their legacy continues.

The tasting room is located on 12 acres of fertile soil in the heart of the areas most renowned growing region. The rolling hills of the vineyard create unique micro-climate blocks that allow the winery to create high quality wines with a broad range of diversity for all tastes and featuring nine acres dedicated to classic Italian and Bordeaux Varietals, uniquely planted in six segmented micro climate blocks. You can join them for a guided vineyard walking tour that starts right in the vines, where you will learn about soil conditions, varietals and all things it takes to produce great grapes that make fabulous wines.

However, if you desire something a little more scenic, you can soar above 2,500 acres of vineyards scattered throughout rolling hills, with  breathtaking views of 11,000 foot high mountains, all from the Robert Renzoni hot air balloon. Experience peace and serenity while drifting over vineyards as the sun rises over the mountains as you observe lakes, citrus groves, vineyards, wineries and estate homes from this unparalleled view from the air. Balloon tours are offered seven days a week, weather permitting, year-round. Flights are 60-75 minutes in length, however you should plan to spend up to three hours for your entire ballooning excursion.  All rides take place at sunrise when winds are calm, the air is stable and the temperatures are cool.  Meeting times vary from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. depending on the season. As part of the De Portola Wine Trail, Robert Renzoni Vineyards and its 10 neighboring wineries collectively host two of the most anticipated tasting events of the Temecula Valley Wine Country season each year.

The DWT’s Big Red Fest is held every April at the 11 participating wineries on the De Portola Wine Trail. This culinary/wine tasting event provides noshes from local artisan chefs and restaurants, paired with wines from each of the wineries. Offering a range of wine experiences you can opt for a sophisticated experience with a VIP private tasting in the Buffalo Room, where you’ll enjoy library wines and learn the history of the family who made them or simply kick back and relax to live music every Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the terrace. A leisurely afternoon meal is always in order at Mama Rosa’s Trattoria, open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and serving  bruschetta, Roman artichokes, pizzas, sandwiches, salads, meat & cheese plates and more.
