Quigley Fine Wines

Savor international wines and West Coast vintages at this family-owned artisanal wine importer in downtown San Diego. The venue at the corner of Fourth and Cedar features a gorgeous giant teak tasting bar and knowledgeable servers inviting patrons to saunter up and sample. Floor-to-ceiling windows, warm lighting and large wood and metal chandeliers go well with the sips.

Flights consist of five wines with a classic version for $16; and a reserve for $24. By-the-glass, flights, or bottle options are paired with an exceptional menu of boutique wines from France, Spain, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand — all carried exclusively through Quigley — as well as wines crafted by top California and Oregon winemakers. The focus is on wines made in limited production and those which are sustainably produced.

Open 4-9 p.m. Tues..-Sat. and steps from restaurants and nightclubs, Quigley is a prime spot to enjoy a drink after work, to start the night out, before a Padres game, or before or after dinner. Specialty fare and live music are served up most Friday evenings (tasty focaccia plates and lovely harp music; or wood-fired pizza and guitar music are popular offerings).
