Navy Seal Museum San Diego
New cultural center in downtown San Diego to bring Navy SEAL story to life with exhibits, interactive experiences and virtual reality
Guests can also learn about the grit of our nation’s most elite warriors in the immersive Mindset Surround Theatre, get an up-close look at the Navy SEAL operation that captured Osama bin Laden, and experience a virtual reality module called the Navy SEAL Xperience, gaining a sense of what a real SEAL mission is like from mission planning to extraction. They will further learn about the Underwater Demolition Teams from World War II, the forefathers to all Navy SEALs. A Memorial Wall dedicated to fallen Frogmen from World War II to the current will also be on view.
Visitors will also be awed by a 1,600-pound real SEAL Delivery Vehicle suspended from the second-story ceiling inside the venue. They will get the opportunity to “pilot” one of these submersibles via a video game interface.
Aside from educating the public about the Navy SEALs’ history and work, the museum will also pay tribute to fallen service members at the Navy SEAL Memorial and support their families through the Trident House Charities Program.
The program provides aid for medical needs not covered by federal funding and takes donations for a scholarship program for children of Special Operations members, a respite home and a K9 project for veterans.
The two-story museum at 1001 Kettner Blvd. will be the second location for the original Navy SEAL Museum, which opened in 1985 in Fort Pierce, Fla. That’s where predecessors of the SEALS trained in 1945 for the invasion of Normandy’s beaches during World War II.
The Florida museum’s directors dreamed of opening the San Diego location as generations of the Navy’s Sea, Air and Land (SEAL) teams and Special Warfare Combat Crewman teams have trained in nearby Coronado since the 1950s.
Visit this venue of inspiration, reverence, and education that honors the service of the SEALs from World War II to the present day, starting Oct. 4, 2025. Tickets for timed-entry admission to the museum will go on sale on Labor Day, Sept. 1. Prices have yet to be announced. For more information, visit navysealmuseumsd.org or by calling (619) 566-7956.
