Founded in 1995, AleSmith started as a small single-unit space. Soon after, its handcrafted ales began winning medals at the Great American Beer Festival in Colorado. AleSmith’s reputation was further solidified with its purchase in 2002 by Peter and Vicky Zien. Peter, a grand master judge, had already won over 400 home-brewing awards at the time, making him one of the most respected brewers in the world.

Forging ahead, AleSmith closed its original location and opened a brand new 105,000 square-foot facility two blocks away in 2015.

Today, the state-of-the-art venue is anchored by an immense tasting room with multiple draught towers featuring 20 taps of AleSmith releases. The room is an ideal big-group gathering spot as well as the perfect place to grab a beer with a friend or date. It’s also family- and dog-friendly. Guests can catch a game inside Dugout 19, a private space dedicated to the memory of Hall-of-Famer Tony Gwynn, or duck into Anvil & Stave, a speakeasy-style nook hidden inside the tasting room that serves custom blends of AleSmith’s barrel-aged offerings. Outside, a beer garden features a fire pit and portable heat lamps for cooler days and evenings.
