“Run. Drive. Sleep? Repeat.” That’s the 200-mile Ragnar Relay, an overnight running relay race set for April 4-5. Teams of 12 run over two days and one night, conquering challenges and celebrating shared accomplishments.
Again this year, the Huntington Beach-to-San Diego event includes the spectacular Torrey Pines Gliderport in La Jolla as one of its exchange stops.
The Gliderport’s Cliffhanger Cafe, with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, will open early Saturday, April 5 (around 6 a.m.) and serve a breakfast buffet for runners, employees and fans who want to join in on the fun.
The breakfast buffet will include pancakes, eggs and other delicious early-bird offerings. Cost is $8. The ocean view is free. Stay to watch the runners return to the road and the gliders take off and land. Live music by local rock band Cuddlefish will entertain the crowd from 1-4 p.m.
The Cliffhanger Cafe is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and accepts orders to pick up. Call (858) 452-9858, fax (858) 452-9983 or order online at GrubHub.com.
