On Thursday, April 24, I had the pleasure of attending the first annual Taste of La Mesa Village, a sold-out event that brought the community together for an evening of food, drinks, and fun.
A total of 26 local businesses participated, offering “sips and bites” to ticket holders. Most of the stops were conveniently located along both sides of La Mesa Boulevard, making it easy to stroll from one spot to the next. The event ran from 5 to 8 PM, giving guests plenty of time to visit every location at a relaxed pace.
It was a fantastic opportunity to sample dishes from favorite restaurants and discover new ones. From delicious Mexican eateries and Italian pizzerias to California cuisine, tea shops, and dessert spots, every stop left me full and happy.
The “sip” stations added even more charm, allowing us to explore a variety of shops while chatting with owners. Tastings included wine, craft beer, hard seltzers, and spirits, offering something for everyone.
Many businesses handed out coupons for future visits and fun swag like koozies, keychains, and lip balm. It was a perfect way to connect with and support the local community. I’m already looking forward to coming back next year!
