For free, family fun and fabulous fare, head to MainStreet Oceanside’s Farmer’s Market on Thursdays mornings and Mainstreet’s Sunset Market on Thursday evenings. This dynamic duo of tasty and entertaining events attract thousands of Oceanside residents and visitors each week.

At the morning farmers market, stock up on fresh fruit, bread and flowers, buy handmade goods, jewelry, soaps, lotions, art, as well as artisan-baked goods, organic dips and sauces. Enjoy the ocean breezes while strolling and sampling all the offerings at this hometown gathering held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. every Thursday, year-round, at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Pier View Way.

Sample everything from Thai burgers to sushi rolls to cheesecake cups later in the day at MainStreet’s popular Sunset Market. A community treasure for more than a decade, the Sunset Market wows with international cuisine. The menu includes everything from American classics to exotic-island specialties to European delicacies to Latin-American favorites.

Stretched out together over several blocks in downtown Oceanside, the market also offers specialty coffee, unique jewelry, beach clothing, face-painting and inflatable bounce houses for younger attendees. Live entertainment, street performers and happy folks round out the festive atmosphere. Bring your family, friends, neighbors and dogs (the market is pooch-friendly!) and enjoy an amazing evening in Downtown Oceanside. The Sunset Market runs from 5-9 p.m. year-round at Pier View Way West and Pacific Coast Highway.

Both markets are great ways to meet friends and neighbors, chat with area merchants and enjoy wonderful California weather. Treat yourself to these terrific hometown traditions!
