On Oct. 15, the Japanese Friendship Garden hosts Okabe Takahiro in a Zoom discussion on deep steamed tea known as fukamushi-cha. Okabe-san grew up learning tea ceremony and would later hold Japanese Tea events to promote Kakegawa tea. When opening Tea of the Men, Okabe-san served only fukamushi-cha and discovered that the best way to make Japanese tea depends on the type being served and went to learn from tea farmers and sellers and practice serving tea until they approved. Heritage of the Americas Museum Hosts Field Trips for Grade-School Students
Heritage of the Americas Museum 12110 Cuyamaca College Drive West, El Cajon, CASchools are invited to take students on a journey through time at the Heritage of the Americas Museum. Docent-led tours are conducted almost daily throughout the school year. Field Trips are scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon. Transportation grants are available to assist with the cost of buses.
