Orchestrate an evening out enjoying world-class performances by the San Diego Symphony, now performing at its newly renovated and revitalized indoor home, Jacobs Music Center. Improved sight lines, acoustics, new seating and finishes, and restored architectural details have combined to create an experience of rich sound and intimacy for the audience and musicians in the nearly century-old hall. Along with its Jacobs Masterworks classical repertoire, the Symphony has reintroduced its indoor Jazz @ the Jacobs and Family Concerts, and added two new series: Currents, often dealing with mature topics; and Symphony Kids, 30-minute concerts designed for families with children ages 0-5. Special one-night-only concerts at the Jacobs Music Center include Michael Feinstein in “Because of You” — Feinstein’s tribute to Tony Bennett featuring the Carnegie Hall Big Band — on March 2; Rock ‘n Radio, featuring eight decades of chart-topping hits on March 16, and “When the Saints Go Marching In” with Byron Stripling on April 19. The Symphony’s summer program is played at its premier outdoor venue: The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. View the complete schedule and buy tickets at sandiegosymphony.org
