Vista's Coolest Attraction Celebrating Its 'Silver Season' in 2019
Splash into summer at The Wave Waterpark, celebrating its 25th anniversary as Vista’s coolest attraction. To mark the occasion, the aquatic playground will feature “Silver Season” contests and deals on social media (Facebook and Instagram) @thewavewaterpark.
Situated steps from the vibrant Vista Village area, the aquatic playground offers six main water-filled activities. Visitors (42 inches or taller) can climb the Slide Tower and whoosh down four different water slides, all emptying into a splash pool. For boogie boarders, The Flow Rider creates endless summer fun. It’s North County’s only simulated wave machine creating the perfect beach break with every ride. The park also features a Rip Tide Slide for single tube users, who land into the Crazy River. More of a lazy river, the waterway offers guests a relaxing float on an inner tube as they go with the flow of the current. For lap swimmers, The Wave’s multi-lane competition pool is perfect for practicing strokes and getting a great workout. Kids all of ages can also splash about, or float on mats in the temperature-controlled water. For the little ones, the Splash Park offers a joyful experience, who can play in the spray, and splash all day.
Though tubes are provided for all the rides, the park offers tube rentals as a convenience to guests who wish to have their own tube with them at all times. Cabana rentals for birthday parties or lazing the day away are also available. Cabanas offer a designated shaded area and may may be reserved in advance at (760) 940-9283 or, if available, on the day of at the main gate. Backpack-size lockers are also available to rent for $5 per day.
For a tasty bites, check out The Wave’s Surf Spot Grill, offering burgers, hot dogs, burritos, salads, shaved ice, ice cream, and more to park guests. Those needing sunscreen, towels, and goggles can purchase them at The Wave Shack.
Open May 25-Sept. 29 in 2019 (weekends only in mid-August and September), the Wave offers camps, swim lessons, a junior lifeguard program, scout programs, mermaid classes, CPR and water polo classes, and group and birthday programs. During the off-season, the venue is open for lap swimming and private event rentals. The park is also well staffed with lifeguards, and offers free parking.
Also don’t miss the venue’s special summer events, including Military, Fire & Law Appreciation Day May 27, July 4, and Sept. 15; Wave Friday Night Splash Events June 7, June 21, July 5, July 19, Aug. 2 and Aug. 16. The Wave Waterpark’s 25th Anniversary Celebration is set for noon-5:30 p.m. June 30. Celebrate with special guests and fun activities!
Admission for 2019 is $20.95 for visitors 42 inches and taller, $16.95 for those under 42 inches, seniors age 60 and over are $13.95, Happy Hour for all heights and ages is available the last two hours the park is open for $9.95, ages 2 and under are free, and military with I.D. is $13.95. Season passes are available for $74 per person, or $69 per person for a family of four.
