Oak Mountain Winery
Visit Southern California's first subterranean wine cave and taste delicious wines as you enjoy picturesque hillside views!
Nestled high atop the northeasterly hills of Temecula Valley Wine Country, are the vineyards and winery of Oak Mountain. This picturesque hillside vineyard estate produces the myriad of wines sampled at Oak Mountain Winery. Family owned and operated since the doors opened in 2000, owners Steve and Valerie invite you to join them in their popular tasting room just off the De Portola Wine Trail. These wines, vineyards, and winery are a true reflection of the relaxed and classic beauty of the valley. At Oak Mountain you can enjoy wine tasting or your favorite bottle while listening to live music in the Pavilion every Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.. A full handcrafted beer and wine menu is also available to customers over 21 and a dog friendly patio is available for our four legged friends.
With Southern California’s first subterranean wine cave, Oak Mountain Winery has created the ideal conditions for aging its wine at temperatures in the 60 degree range. Using geothermal technology, both cave temperatures and humidity stay in a range best suited to the aging process. Even more incredibly, however is the caves aren’t just ideal for barrel aging, but also for your special events and fine dining. The Cave Café is considered by many the most unique restaurant setting in wine country, where you dine 75 feet underground. They feature a seasonal menu cooked with locally-sourced ingredients, with sharable and pairable items filling the menu. Offering delicious appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees The Cave Café is open daily from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
For a corporate fine dining or special occasion dinner there are several options to choose from. In The Cave, there is ample banquet space for private parties and destination wedding receptions, all underground, or you can host your event in the beautiful Pavilion overlooking the vineyard. If you prefer your event be outdoors, the ten-acre hilltop winery boasts breathtaking vews and tranquil grounds, unmatched in natural beauty for a winery wedding held on top of a ridge soaring 1,450 feet above the Temecula Valley.
As part of the De Portola Wine Trail, Oak Mountain Winery and its 10 neighboring wineries collectively host two of the most anticipated tasting events of the Temecula Valley Wine Country season each year.
The DWT’s Big Red Fest is held every April at the 11 participating wineries on the De Portola Wine Trail. This culinary/wine tasting event provides noshes from local artisan chefs and restaurants, paired with wines from each of the wineries. The similarly themed fall Harvest Festival is held every November, invites guests to enjoy wines — including new vintage releases — from the 11 De Portola wineries along with delectable appetizers.
