Pacific Southwest Railway Museum

Journey through the rugged back-country scenery of San Diego County On A Old-Time Train Ride.

Journey through the rugged back-country scenery of San Diego County, courtesy of the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum, famous for its old-time train rides. Seasonal offerings include the Pumpkin Express in October, the Valley Flyer Caboose Ride in November, the North Pole Limited between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and the Bunny Train in spring. The museum’s classic year-round weekend excursion, The Golden State Limited, departs from the Campo Depot for an hour-long ride after passengers visit the museum’s gift shop and ticket office. Locomotive cab rides are also offered and provide a unique and added thrill to the experience. The cost of the cab ride also includes the train ride.

For a more personal experience, the museum offers private rail car parties for events like birthdays, anniversaries and more. Choose from among two private luxury railroad cars or a caboose for charter behind regularly scheduled Golden State excursion trains. Join the railway aboard private cars Robert Peary and Santa Fe Cafe-Lounge #1509, or Missouri Pacific Caboose #13936 to travel in style with friends, family or business associates. These cars may be reserved for small or midsize (20-30 people) groups. The Museum’s historic Campo Depot is also great for a reception. A flatcar can be used in the museum’s display building as a stage for bands. Call (619) 465-7776 and also see the museum’s information on https://www.psrm.org/.
